Teaching related to tantric studies is offered at the University of Hamburg. Classes in the primary languages of tantric texts, namely classical Sanskrit and Tibetan, are regularly taught. Readings in a variety of subjects related to tantric studies are also offered according to demand and availablility: see our full list. Details of each semester’s classes are available at the website of the Asia-Africa Institute’s Department of Indian and Tibetan Studies.
Visiting scholars also give presentations on their research and recent findings in tantric studies (past presentations are listed below). We also plan to convene workshops in connection with various research projects in the near future.
