Encoding, Fonts and Standards
Content on the CTS website is encoded according to the UTF-8 (Unicode) standard. Questions about the display and encoding of South Asian languages are addressed in the Unicode Consortium’s Indic Scripts and Languages FAQ.
Please ensure that your browser is set to automatically recognise UTF-8 encoding. (For example, in Firefox, use ‘View > Character Encoding’; in Safari, ‘View > Text Encoding’; in Internet Explorer, ‘View > Encoding’.) For best viewing results, we recommend installing the FreeSerif and FreeSans fonts from the FreeFont project.
A non-exhaustive table of diacritics used in our e-texts may be found in the following file: diacritics-table.txt.
Our website has been successfully tested under Debian Linux (Ubuntu 7.04 onwards), as well as Windows 2000/XP/Vista and Mac OS X.
Updates to the Site
Tantric-studies.org was inaugurated on June 9, 2007. News items and additions are usually announced on our home page. Readers can be automatically advised of changes by subscribing to our RSS feed. Some information about reading RSS feeds is given on the RSS specification website.

The Logo
The logo of the CTS, visible in the header of our website, depicts an oṁ syllable within an ādhāra-cakra of the subtle body. The notion of a subtle body is shared by both Śaiva and Buddhist tantric traditions, and the details of the design derive from a painting in a medieval Nepalese manuscript.
